The Francis Marion National Forest plans to contract for Mechanical Removal of Midstory in Red-Cockaded Woodpecker Clusters on the Wambaw and Witherbee Ranger Districts, Berkeley and Charleston Counties, South Carolina. The work will include removing hardwood and pine midstory on 304 acres of red-cockaded woodpecker clusters by mechanical means (i.e. chainsaw, brush axe, weedeater, etc.). Hardwood stumps will be treated with herbicide to prevent resprouting. The contractor shall furnish all equipment, materials, supervision, transportation, labor and supplies in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the solicitation. No materials, labor or supplies will be furnished by the Forest Service unless specifically identified in the Government Furnished Property clause. (0351)
