vendors which can provide technological enhancements, service
improvements, new and/or emerging computer and network communications
service offerings, and sustaining engineering for a worldwide, secure
communications network providing data, voice and video services to the
government. Technologies of particular interest include high data rate
services, firewalls, network management, compartmented mode processing,
distributed database management as well as multi-level secure operating
systems and trusted database management. The current network
architecture, designed for growth and evolution, provides x.400
messaging, X.400 message to legacy mail system translation, x.500
directory, http and ftp services, and sophisticated compartmented
security processing without using traditional trusted products. Current
critical hardware components include Nortel Meridian PBXs, Nortel
Passport routing switches, CISCO routers, SSC Sidewinder firewalls, and
a PictureTel Montage 8000 video bridge. Current critical software
applications include HP OpenView, OmniGuard, Seagate NerveCenter, and
Peregrine Help Desk. Current media combines leased lines, the PSTN,
ISDN, IDNX, and SATCOM. Additional information about this JTA

$15 million over the next 4 to 6 years. Performance will require a
facility and personnel cleared for Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented
Information (TS/SCI). Interested parties should provide, at a minimum,
the following information: company description (including company
history), experience relevant to the system described in this notice
(including an outline of previous projects and specific work previously
performedor being performed), description of capabilities, description
of relevant personnel experience, statement regarding industry
security clearance, availability and description of facilities required
to perform the tasks described, any other specific or pertinent
information relative to this particular area which would enhance the
information submitted. THIS SYNOPSIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY.
NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE EXISTS AT THIS TIME. NO AWARD WILL BE MADE FROM
ANY RESPONSES TO THIS SYNOPSIS. While receipt of inputs will be
acknowledged, respondents will not be notified of the results of any
evaluation of the data received. Requests for copies of any submissions
will neither be honored nor acknowledged. Send UNCLASSIFIED inputs,
limited to ten pages of data, not later than 30 days from the date of
