QUANTITY 1: QUALIFY THE DESIGN AND PERFORM INITIAL PLACEMENT AND ROUTING. QUANTITY 1: PERFORM LASAR FUNCTIONAL TEST VECTOR VERIFICATION AND FABRICATE AND TEST THE CHIPS. QUANTITY 1: SHIP (5) PROTOTYPE CHIPS. QUANTITY 1: DELIVER (23) ADDITIONAL PROTOTYPES. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from VITESSE SEMICONDUCTOR CORPORATION AS THEY ARE THE ONLY KNOWN DISTRIBUTOR OF THESE PRODUCTS. THE AUTHORITY IS 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), ONLY ONE RESPONSIBLE SOURCE. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. SEE Note 22. Interested firms have(15) days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Responses received after the (15) days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered.
