70 -- NON-UNIFORMITY CALIBRATION SYSTEM SOL F08651-98-Q-0540 DUE 010598 POC Contact Julie A. Shaddock, Contract Specialist, (850)882-8280, Willie Andrews, Contracting Officer The Air Force Development Test Center, 46th Test Wing, intends to award a contract for a Non-Uniformity Calibration System. A non-uniformity calibration system is needed to perform highspeed calibration of the Wideband Infrared (IR) Scene Projection system. This system is composed of two key components: a high yield 512 x 512 mid-wave infrared Focal Plane Array (FPA) sensor and electronics readout system. The 512 x 512 focal plane array shall be mounted in a liquid pour dewar assembly with appropriate pin-outs to interface with an external readout system. The readout electronics shall provide the interface from the sensor to computer controllers that host the calibration system and be capable of collecting 12 bit frame at 100 Hz. The system shall have a full Versamodule Eurocard (VME) compatibility, an Ethernet interface, data reduction and analysis software, at least 256 Mbytes cache memory, and any other necessary items to acquire and transfer image data from the focal plane array sensor. Specifically, this solicitation is for the non-uniformity calibration system consisting of: A sensor controller Personnel Computer Board (PCB), a digital sensor acquisition PCB (4 channels), one each 8-slot backplane mux PCB, a VME rack with 1000W power supply, a 486DX4/100 processor module, a 240Mbyte Hard Drive with 3.5" 1.44MB Floppy Drive, an ITT Advanced image manager with digital module and pseudo color display, a power supply unit, operational software and operational manual, with on-site installation. Other items include a 4 channel remote support unit for IR camera head (includes interface PCB's), cache memory PCB with 256 Mbyte DRAM (includes cached memory interface PCB), 8-slot cache mezzanine PCB, VME Ethernet interface module, system data reduction and analysis software, and 512 x 512 snapshot FPA with pour filled dewar 250-9029 lens assembly (3-5u, 100mm, F/2.3). This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
