The work shall consist of deepening the existing detention pond at the Buena Vista Pump Station, lowering the bottom elevation from 480 to 466 M.S.L. Additionally, a new pumping station containing four (4) vertical turbine pumps with a capacity of 18,750 gal/min and one submersible dewatering sump pump will be constructed to expedite the removal of stormwater from the detention pond to a 60 inch force main. An emergency automatic start-up standby engine generating system will be required to provide 24 hour duration power during loss of normal utility power. The new pumping station will be connected to an existing 36 inch outfall. The principal item of work include: excavation, underground utilities, mechanical, electrical and structural. The job is IFB No. DACW62-98-B-0001 with a duration of 18 months and is estimated in the $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00 range.
