R -- COMMECIAL RECRUITING FIRM SOL 98-888 POC Contact Janet Scott, Contract Specialist 202/708-9979 The U.S. Department of Education is seeking a Commercial Recruiting Firm to provide Executive Search services to identify and screen candidates nationally for the position of Director of Higher Education Preparation and Support Services. The services sought are intended to serve as an additional source of applicants to supplement the Government's own recruitment efforts. The Recruiting Firm must refine a position description for approval by the Department, screen candidates against basic requirements to be specified by the Department, and refer to the Department all candidates who appear to meet the qualifications. Once recruited, an applicant must be evaluated and appointed through civil service employment procedures. The Recruiting Firm may not imply that it is the sole or primary avenue for employment with the Federal Government or with the Department. Applicants may apply directly to the Government for this position and, thus, need not apply through the Commercial Recruiting Firm. The Recruiting Firm must comply with all applicable merit principles and equal opportunity laws.
