012198 POC Renea Morton, 202/435-6940 17. The U. S. Secret Service has
a SMALL BUSINESS SETASIDE requirement for lead removal and proper
disposal of hazardous waste. The associated SIC Code is 4953; and the
small business standard is $6 million over the last three (3) years.
Specifically, this effort will require the chipping, removal, loading,
transportation, and disposal of lead waste products from the James J.
Rowley Training Center indoor and outdoor ranges located at 9200
Powder Mill Road, Laurel, MD. In addition, the contractor shall
remove/replace lead contaminated filters of various sizes, and HEPA
vacuum the indoor range fan pit area and the area behind the bullet
traps. Also, this effort will require chipping, removal, loading,
transportation and disposal of lead waste products from the Post Office
Range located at Pennsylvania Avenue and 12th Street, N.W., Washington,
D.C. In addition, the contractor shall HEPA vacuum the area behind the
bullet traps. All lead waste products will be handled as E.P.A.
hazardous waste No. D008 and will be transported as hazardous waste
solid, n.o.s. (lead), 9, NA, 3077, PG III. The contractor shall provide
all labor, material, and equipment necessary to accomplish all tasks.
Contractor shall be required to provide an audit trail on all waste
disposal. A Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on or about
December 18, 1997. Mandatory site visit has been scheduled for 8:00
A.M., January 6, 1998, at 9200 Powder Mill Road, Laurel, MD, followed
by a site visit to the Post Office Range in Washington, DC. Bus
transportation will be provided from the James J. Rowley Training
Center to Washington, DC and return to Training Center. Please FAX name

Contract Specialist, at 202/435-7138, to confirm attendance. Space is
limited, only one representative per company may go on site visits.
Offers will only be accepted from prospective offerors attending the
site visit. Proposals are anticipated to be due January 21,1998. This
requirement will result in a firm-fixed price contract for a base year
plus four (4) one-year optional periods. Offerors will be required to
submit information detailing past performance in providing same or
similar services, for the past three (3) years, at time of proposal
