Y -- UPGRADE ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, ELMENDORF AFB, ALASKA SOL DACA85-98-R-0003 DUE 021298 POC Gail M West, 907/753-2552/Contracting Officer, Corps of Engineers The project consists of designing and constructing overhead and underground 34.5KV electrical transmission line loop, 12.47KV distribution lines, take off facilities, risers and sectionalizers to serve a new electrical power substation. The new 14.0 MVA substation will be designed and constructed complete with metal enclosed medium voltage switchgear, associated grounding, transformers, fire protection, fencing and access roads. The project will tie the new North substation to the existing 34.5KV transmission line, to existing 12.47KV distribution lines and construct a 12.47KV distribution line to the existing Hospital. The project includes approximately 14,394 meters of overhead and underground electrical transmission lines. The project will be designed and constructed in accordance with the criteria established in the Request for Proposal and using standard materials and efficient practices. The design and materials selected shall be high quality, durable and easily maintained. The successful proposal will be responsible for the professional quality, technical accuracy and coordination of all design drawings and specifications from which he will construct the project. The project will be designed and constructed in metric units of measure. Remediation of contaminated soils may be encountered on the project.
