Hartsock, Contract Specialist, (504) 862-2863 The Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, intends to award a sole source purchase order to Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO for Computer Modeling in support of Sedimentation Analysis. The purpose of the analysis is to determine the change in maintenance dredging for the crossings between New Orleans and Baton Rouge from 500ft to 750ft draft. The study will utilize an existing CH3D-SED numerical model of Mississippi River Crossings which has been developed by Colorado State University. The allotted time for the study is one month with a second month allowed for the preparation of a final report. The contractor will be required to make an oral presentation of the results and deliver a final report which presents procedures, results, and conclusions and give assistance to New Orleans District Engineers to set-up and run the model. The successful bidder must have experience in the running of CH3D-SED, in addition to an understanding of sediment transport phenomena in general.
