This is a definite quantity contract. This is a hazardous item type contract. The 120mm Kinetic Energy (KE) Concepts Group of the Heavy Armaments Division (HAD) of the U.S. Armys Tank and Automotive Command (TACOM) at Army Armaments Research and Development Center (ARDEC) requires manufacture and development of Thruster Assemblies in support of the Enhanced Accuracy for Kinetic Energy (EAKE) Development Program. These EAKE Thruster Assemblies are to be compatible with a 120mm KE type Subprojectile (EAKE Subprojectile) that is very similar to the existing 120mm M829A1 Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot with Tracer (APFSDS-T) Subprojectile. The eventual goal for this effort (if successful) is to retrofit all existing M829A1 APFSDS-T Projectiles with the EAKE Thruster Assembly. The contract shall include (but is not limited to) manufacturing of metal parts, furnishing of all required materials, furnishing of all required labor and personnel, furnishing of test and manufacturing facilities (as well as required personnel) mixing of different propellants to be used in the thruster grains, correction of existing drawings, generation of new drawings, testing (bench level, research and development (R & D) level and proving ground level) and performance predictions via appropriate propellant performance and finite element analysis (FEA) codes.
