15 -- AIRCRAFT AND AIRFRAME STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS-POTENTIAL SOURCES SOUGHT (PROCUREMENTS) SOL DAAH23-98-R-0079 DUE 121697 POC Shirley Ross, Contract Specialist, AMSAM-AC-SA-K, (205) 876-5209 Carol West, Contracting Officer, AMSAM-AC-SA-K, (205) 842-7276. 15 -- DEHAVILLAND-7, SERIES 102 AIRCRAFT, BEECHCRAFT C-12C AIRCRAFT, DEHAVILLAND UV-18 (TWIN OTTER) AIRCRAFT, AND SHORTS BROTHERS C-23A Aircraft. The Army intends to acquire three (3) DeHAVILLAND-7, Series 102 aircraft through an exchange of ten (10) Beechcraft C-12C aircraft, one (1) DeHAVILLAND UV-18 (Twin Otter) aircraft, and (3) Shorts Brothers C-23A aircraft in flyable and non-flyable condition, plus miscellaneous avionics components. The aircraft and equipment are no longer suitable for the U.S. Army mission. Consideration in addition to the three (3) DeHAVILLAND-7, Series 102 aircraft is depended on the offeror's estimate of the value of the aircraft and equipment being offered. The aircraft are currently located at Lakehurst NAES, (Maxfield Fld-KNEL), New Jersey. The avionics components are currently located at the West Virginia Air Center, Benedum Airport (KCKB) near Clarksburg, West Virginia. Offerors will be invited to evaluate the aircraft and avionics components on-site, at no expense to the Government. The contractor's offered aircraft must meet the following minimum criteria: Newly completed B Check, C Check, and D Check. In addition to the current inspections, the aircraft shall have a landing gear system installed with not less than ten thousand (10,000) cycles remaining before replacement is required. The Army desires that all time limited components have at least half-life remaining until overhaul or replacement. De- HAVILLAND Serial Number aircraft 001-026 and Series 103 aircraft are not acceptable for exchange. A competitive solicitation is anticipated. The U.S. Army will select that offer which maximizes the return for the exchange of the aircraft and components.
