DEHAVILLAND-7, SERIES 102 AIRCRAFT, BEECHCRAFT C-12C AIRCRAFT,
DEHAVILLAND UV-18 (TWIN OTTER) AIRCRAFT, AND SHORTS BROTHERS C-23A
Aircraft. The Army intends to acquire three (3) DeHAVILLAND-7, Series
102 aircraft through an exchange of ten (10) Beechcraft C-12C aircraft,
one (1) DeHAVILLAND UV-18 (Twin Otter) aircraft, and (3) Shorts
Brothers C-23A aircraft in flyable and non-flyable condition, plus
miscellaneous avionics components. The aircraft and equipment are no
longer suitable for the U.S. Army mission. Consideration in addition to
the three (3) DeHAVILLAND-7, Series 102 aircraft is depended on the
offeror's estimate of the value of the aircraft and equipment being
offered. The aircraft are currently located at Lakehurst NAES,
(Maxfield Fld-KNEL), New Jersey. The avionics components are currently
located at the West Virginia Air Center, Benedum Airport (KCKB) near
Clarksburg, West Virginia. Offerors will be invited to evaluate the
aircraft and avionics components on-site, at no expense to the
Government. The contractor's offered aircraft must meet the following
minimum criteria: Newly completed B Check, C Check, and D Check. In
addition to the current inspections, the aircraft shall have a landing
gear system installed with not less than ten thousand (10,000) cycles
remaining before replacement is required. The Army desires that all
time limited components have at least half-life remaining until
overhaul or replacement. De- HAVILLAND Serial Number aircraft 001-026
and Series 103 aircraft are not acceptable for exchange. A competitive
solicitation is anticipated. The U.S. Army will select that offer
which maximizes the return for the exchange of the aircraft and
components. Interested parties should write to Ms.Shirley Ross or Ms.
