The Precision Strike System Program Office (WMG), Contracting Directorate (WMGK), Aeronautical System Center (ASC), Air Force Material Command (AFMC), Eglin AFB FL plans an acquisition of the FMU-152/B Joint Programmable Fuze (JPF). The JPF will provide a highly reliable bomb fuze for the US Air Force and Navy with multiple arm times, instantaneous and multiple short and long delay detonation times, hard target survivability, cockpit programmability for use with the Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), and increased service/shelf life. The JPF program is nearing completion of the original Engineering, Manufacturing, and Development (EMD) and the build of low rate production (LRIP) hardware. The follow-on production will be full and open competition with award of a new contract for First Article Acceptance Testing on 80 fuzes and priced production options for FY99-03. Option year quantities will vary from 3,600 to 5,000 per option. A production price commitment curve (PPCC) is anticipated for production quantities in FY04-07. This synopsis is to inform all potential offerors that a Draft Request For Proposal (DRFP) will be available for review and comment on approximately 12 December 1997. Parties interested in providing feedback or comments will be given 30 days to respond after release of the DRFP.
