COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF NOVEMBER 26,1997 PSA#1980Tennessee Valley Authority, Procurement, 1101 Market Street,
Chattanooga, TN 37402 58 -- A SYSTEM WHICH WILL PERMIT THE USE OF MULTIPLE VIDEO CAMERAS
INSIDE CONTAINMENT OF AN OPERATING NUCLEAR REACTOR. DUE 121697 POC
Kathy M. Harrell, 1101 Market Street, Edney Building 5A, Chattanooga,
TN 37402-2801 The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is seeking
information regarding the feasibility of a system which will permit the
use of multiple video cameras inside containment of an operating
nuclear reactor. The primary requirement of the system is to permit the
use of a minimum of sixteen (16) cameras through a single coaxial
cable. The equipment used in this application must provide for remote
operation of focus, zoom, pan, tilt, and lamp control. Typical dose
rates will run 2 to 6 R/hr with exposure in a typical 18 month
refueling cycle expected to be 2.6 to 7.8 E4 Rad. All equipment to be
placed in containment must be radiation hardened and of a type suited
for the temperature range normally encountered in this environment. Any
entity that has previously performed comparable work or can demonstrate
the capability to successfully deliver the described system should
submit their relevant qualifications, experience (including
references), and proof of capability, in writing to the attention of
Kathy M. Harrell, TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY, 1101 Market Street, Edney
Building 5A, Chattanooga, TN 37402-2801. Submitters should be advised
that TVA has made no decision to procure the described system, but is
simply soliciting information to investigate system feasibility.
