The US Army TACOM-ARDEC, Picatinny Arsenal intends to acquire under the authority of 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source, a production effort for the AT Lens Assembly, BPRM and HED Battery for the M87A1 VOLCANO Canister Assembly. This requirement is for a follow-on contract to a current contract. It is for an estimated quantity of 30,000 units with an option for 6,000 units. The Government intends to utilize Alliant Techsystems Inc. located in Hopkins, MN in a new contractual action. The new effort is expected to be awarded in FY98. See Numbered Note 22 and Note 26.
