equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the USCGC KODIAK
ISLAND (WPB-1341) including but not limited to the following minimum
items: (1) Renew potable water tank bulkhead plating, (2) Renew
watertight/weathertight doors and hatch, (3) Fabricate and install
bronze sleeves in various shaft packing areas, (4) Remove, inspect, and
reinstall propeller shafts, (5) Renew water-lubricated shaft bearings,
(6) Remove and reinstall propellers, (7) Inspect and repack MDE
exhaust flapper valves and MDE exhaust piping, (8) Install tank and
compartment vent goosenecks and inverted check valves, (9) Overhaul,
renew, and test valves, (10) Inspect and overhaul duplex sea strainers,
(11) Remove and dispose of diesel fuel up to 5,000 gallons, (12) Clean
and inspect tanks, (13) Remove and reinstall rudders, (14) Overhaul
stabilizing fins, (15) Hydroblast sewage and grey water piping, (16)
Preserve underwater body, condition A, entire u/w body, (17) Clean and
inspect sewage and greywater collection and holding tanks, (18)
Preserve and disinfect potable water tanks, preserve 3-14-1-W, (19)
Preserve 3-14-2-W, (20) Inspect and maintain cathodic protection
system, (21) Renew AFT berthing floating deck panels, (22) Renew

feet, 1 inch. Vessel homepier is Panama City, FL. Vessel availability
schedule is on or about March 9, 1998. Performance period is scheduled
for 42 calendar days. Vessel is not restricted. There will be a
non-refundable charge of $100.00 in the form of a certified check or
money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested
drawings. Orders must be placed within ten (10) days of solicitation
issuance. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 11 Dec 1997 from our office
location, Commander (vpl-1), Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic,
300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Based upon
market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in
Part 12-Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the
described supplies or services. However, interested persons may
identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to
satisfy the Government's requirement, with a commercial item within 15
days of this notice. This notice is for informational purposes for
Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The
Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged
