Brumfiel, Contracting Officer, (757) 628-4635 Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the USCGC KODIAK ISLAND (WPB-1341) including but not limited to the following minimum items: (1) Renew potable water tank bulkhead plating, (2) Renew watertight/weathertight doors and hatch, (3) Fabricate and install bronze sleeves in various shaft packing areas, (4) Remove, inspect, and reinstall propeller shafts, (5) Renew water-lubricated shaft bearings, (6) Remove and reinstall propellers, (7) Inspect and repack MDE exhaust flapper valves and MDE exhaust piping, (8) Install tank and compartment vent goosenecks and inverted check valves, (9) Overhaul, renew, and test valves, (10) Inspect and overhaul duplex sea strainers, (11) Remove and dispose of diesel fuel up to 5,000 gallons, (12) Clean and inspect tanks, (13) Remove and reinstall rudders, (14) Overhaul stabilizing fins, (15) Hydroblast sewage and grey water piping, (16) Preserve underwater body, condition A, entire u/w body, (17) Clean and inspect sewage and greywater collection and holding tanks, (18) Preserve and disinfect potable water tanks, preserve 3-14-1-W, (19) Preserve 3-14-2-W, (20) Inspect and maintain cathodic protection system, (21) Renew AFT berthing floating deck panels, (22) Renew bulkhead 28 insulation, (23) Provide temporary messing, (24) Provide temporary berthing, (25) Renew hot water heater and inspect galley deck, (26) Provide temporary logistics, (27) Routine drydocking. Indefinite items include but are not limited to the following items: (1) Shell Plate Renewal (5.1# Steel), (2) Shell Plate Renewal (7.65# Steel), (3) Shell Plate Renewal (10.2# Steel), (4) Corrugated Plate Renewal (4.4# Steel), (5) Structural Steel Plate (5.1# Steel), (6) Structural Steel Plate (7.65# Steel), (7) Structural Steel Plate (10.2# Steel), (8) Flat Plate Renewal (1/16" Alum), (9) Flat Plate Renewal (1/8" Alum), (10) Flat Plate Renewal (3/16" Alum), (11) Inspect and Install Government furnished propulsion shaft, (12) Perform stern tube/strut alignment inspection, (13) Perform reduction gear-to-shaft alignment inspection, (14) Straighten propeller shaft, (15) Repair propeller shaft, (16) Repair propeller root erosion, root repairs (0.5 In3), (17) Balance propeller, (18) Preserve transducer hull rings and install V850 transduer, (19) Renew rudder lower bearing, (20) Renew lower fin stock bearing, (21) Preserve underwater body, coating thickness measurement-destructive, (22) Condition B (10%), (23) Condition B (Entire u/w body), (24) Condition C (10%), (25) Condition C (Entire u/w body), (26) Underwater appendage preservation, (27) Clean and inspect sewage and grey water collection and holding tank(s), sewage tank (3-15.5-0-W), (28) Aft grey water tank (3-26.5-0-W), (29) Renew reference electrode, (30) Renew cathodic anode, (31) Renew capstic fairing (10 In3), (32) Renew entire capastic fairing, (33) Provide additional temporary messing, (34) Provide additional temporary berthing, (35) Ultasonic testing, 100 shots per group, (36) 500 shots per group, (37) Provide additionaltempoary logistics. Vessel is a "C" Class Medium Endurance Cutter. Vessel length is 110 feet. Width is 21 feet, 1 inch. Vessel homepier is Panama City, FL. Vessel availability schedule is on or about March 9, 1998. Performance period is scheduled for 42 calendar days. Vessel is not restricted. There will be a non-refundable charge of $100.00 in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. Orders must be placed within ten (10) days of solicitation issuance. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 11 Dec 1997 from our office location, Commander (vpl-1), Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic, 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12-Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement, with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts.
