market survey to identify firms with the capability of manufacturing
and providing commercial camping stoves to replace the military unique,
single burner, gasoline squad stove. A multifuel commercial, survival
type, stove capable of burning such difficult fuels as JP-8 aviation
fuel, JP-4 and diesel fuel with suitable state-of-the-art technology is
required. The backpackable stove should not exceed a weight of 64
ounces. The burner should have fuel control regulation to adjust the
flame and be operable at all altitudes to 10,000 feet above sea level.
The burner shall provide for easy ignition at temperatures ranging
from -25F to tropical ambient temperatures. Means shall be provided to
shield the burner and flame from wind speeds up to 20 knots. Cookware
support features for the stove should have stability when set up on
uneven or rough terrain. Stoves should be complete with fuel generator
for accommodating the fuels specified above. The stove should be
easily maintainablein the field for quick, easy repairs. Fuel jets
should be easily cleanable with minimal maintenance. This announcement
