Standards and Technology (NIST) has a need for one radio transmitter
required as a power source for the radio frequency cavity which is part
of an electron storage ring operated at the Synchrontron Ultraviolet
Radiation Facility at NIST. The transmitter shall deliver 30 kilowatts
of power, continuous wave, at 113.846 MHZ. The transmitter will be a
critical component for the Facility and shall operate reliably,
typically 10 hours per day, five days per week. Under normal conditions
the operator will bring the drive power to the transmitter to a level
sufficient to generate output power in the vicinity of 2.0 KW and then
bring the output power up to full value over a period of about 60
seconds where it will remain for an indefinite period during the
operating day. The delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg,
Maryland and shall be within thirty days after contract award. A
Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued within 15 days of the date
of this notice. The governmentanticipates an award of a
firm-fixed-price contract. All responsible small business sources may
submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Please
