Nadine Maack (205) 895-1129 (Site Code DACA87) Provide services to
operate the "Life Center", located at the Office of the U.S. Army
Engineering and Support Center, Huntsville, 4820 University Square,
Huntsville, Alabama, 35816. The Life Center is an approximate 2,300
square foot fitness facility which includes (1) a 1,000 square foot
aerobics room with sound system, (2) a 1,200 square foot carpeted area
equipped with weights and fitness equipment, (3) a 65 square foot
office, and (4) a 35 square foot locked storage area. Hours of
operation are: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and
Thursday and Friday, 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Approximately 550 Federal
employees are eligible to participate. Services to be provided include:
Certified fitness instructors and other fitness specialists to (1)
staff and operate the facility, (2) provide consultations (3) conduct
aerobics classes and seminars, (4) conduct fitness testing and
orientation, (5) develop motivational programs and events, (6) maintain
exercise equipment by performing daily maintenance(cleaning,
inspection, and adjustments) and (7) maintain personnel records and
prepare monthly reports. A list of materials and equipment to be
provided by the Government and to be provided by the Contractor shall
be provided. Contractor performance shall be rated by various measures
using a scale of satisfactory or unsatisfactory, with the first rating
period three months after initiation of the contract, and monthly
thereafter. Offerors will be provided a questionnaire on their
capability to meet the requirement. The questionnaire must be completed
as a part of proposal submission. A pre-proposal conference/site visit
will be held on 20 November 1997 at the U.S. Army Engineering &
Support Center, Huntsville, Alabama. Detailed information will be
included in the solicitation. Contractor shall be responsible for
meeting all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory
requirements. Evaluating Factors are price and technical factors.
Technical factors include but are not limited to prior experience,
technical expertise, personnel qualifications, and management
capabilities. Price and Technical Factors are of equal importance.
Offerors who are interested in attending the pre-proposal conference
and submitting a proposal for this project should notify Nadine Maack
by facsimile, 205-895-1197 not later than 1400 Hours CST, 13 Nov 1997.
The solicitation should be issued on or about 14 November 1997 and the
proposals shall be due by 1400 hours, CST, 16 Dec 1997. All responsible
sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by this agency.
The Standard Industrial Code applicable to this acquisition is 8999
with annual receipts not exceeding $5.0M. Contractor must furnish
business size with written request (i.e., small business, large
