803-725-3369 E-MAIL: Click here to contact John Olschon via e-mail,
john.olschon@srs.gov. This is a special notice being issued by
Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating
contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site
(SRS) near Aiken, South Carolina. The purpose of this notice is to
determine public interest in the possible licensing of a technology
called "Geosiphon." The "Geosiphon Cell" is a passive, in situ,
groundwater treatment system which utilizes a siphon between two points
of natural head difference to induce greater than natural flow through
a permeable treatment media. It requires no external energy input to
induce the greater than natural flow. Therefore, it minimizes the
operating and maintenance costs associated with pump and treat systems,
and it reduces the clean-up times and subsequent costs associated with
funnel and gate and continuous permeable wall treatment systems.
Respondents will be provided with a technical brief and instructions
for preparing and submitting a business plan, an integral element of
the licensing process. Responses to this notice must be received by
November 22,1997. Business plans must be submitted no later than
December 22,1997. Please contact John Olschon by telephone at
803-725-3369; by facsimile at 803-725-4988; by e-mail at
john.olschon@srs.gov; or by mail at Westinghouse Savannah River
Company, Savannah River Site, ATTN: John Olschon, Building 773-41A,
Room 240, Aiken, SC 29808. This is not a solicitation for a formal
contract, it is a request for Expressions of Interest only. (0302) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0012 19971031\A-0012.SOL)
