The West Virginia High Technology Consortium (WVHTC) Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization tasked to be an impartial participant in suitability testing commercial off-the-shelf software products for the USAF Electronic Systems Center (ESC), is seeking fully developed Database Manager products for suitability testing. As part of an overall plan for acquisition reform, ESC is implementing a product line acquisition strategy that leverages extensive reuse of commercial off-the-shelf software components. This approach was described in CBD announcement PSA-1493, Section 58, December 19, 1995. NPLACE is ready to begin the suitability testing phase for the Database Manager component area of the ESC Generic Command Center Architecture (GCCA). Software vendors are encouraged to submit fully functional evaluation copies of Database Manager software that run on Solaris 2.x and/or Windows NT for suitability testing against the Database Manager criteria, and for placement on ESC's list for use in developingCommand Centers.
