REQUEST FOR INTEREST: An acquisition is being considered for a two step design build of a 14,000 square foot Child Care Center, Naval Air Station, Key West, FL. The work includes the Design and Construction of a one story building with associated utilities and site improvements. The Government intends to award a Best Value Contract, Price and Technical factors being considered. The procurement will consist of two (2) Phases. Phase 1: Proposers will be evaluated on (1)Experience, past performance and capability to perform (2)Construction quality control and safety and (3)Small Business Subcontracting effort. The highest rated proposals, typically 3 to 5, will advance to Phase 2. The Government will then request the Phase 2 Proposal. Phase 2: Qualified proposals will be evaluated on: (1)Technical proposal (which will include mechanical and electrical features, roofs, durability and quality of life and (2)price proposal. Interested design build contractors should notify this office in writing of their intention to submit a proposal on this Solicitation as a prime contractor as early as possible but not later than 12 NOVEMBER 1997.
