202-208-3931 The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Interior
Service Center, has a requirement for a qualified source to provide
assistance to the DOI in reducing its workplace accidents by
integrating safe behavior process models and techniques into lone
employee activities occurring principally in field and remote work
sites. The contractor must have proven capabilities for analyzing
accident data, assessing organizational safety cultures, systematic and
scientific approaches to identify and eliminate barriers for safe
behavior, and scientific and practical solutions for reducing employee
accidents in a diverse and complex work environment. Based on the
results of the contractor's research, assessment and evaluation, the
contractor shall customize a safe behavior approach to reduce accidents
by employees involved in independent field activities. The approach
much include self-observation methodology and define critical behavior
refinement to achieve the desired results, and it must be practicable,
integratinga compatible program to be administered by the DOI. During
implementation, the contractor shall provide internal consultants and
is expected to provide follow-up assistance. Estimated Period of
Performance from February 2, 1998, through September 30, 1998, with an
option to extend this period to encompass safety program
implementation. Solicitation to be issued on or about November 20,
1997. Pre-proposal conference and walk-thru to be held approximately
two weeks following issuance of solicitation, specific dates to be
announced. The applicable SIC and Small Business Size Standard are
8999/$5 million. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that
will be considered by the agency. Telephone requests for the
