contract no. DTCG80-97-P-3FAEQ0 on a sole source basis under the
authority of FAR 6.302-1 with the Hiller Systems INC. to complete
installation of Pyrotronics Fire Alarm System aboard the Coast Guard
Cutters Northland, Tampa and Harriet Lane. This work includes mounting
pull stations, horn strobes, remote annumciator panels and associated
wiring. Performance period, 11 NOV thru 30 DEC 97, USCGC Northland, 26
DEC thru 26 JAN 98, USCGC Harriet Lane, and 14 DEC thru 14 JAN 98 USCGC
Tampa. The standard industrial classification code is 3731 and the size
standard is 1000. The following FAR Clauses will apply to this
solicitation: 52.219-6 Notice of Total Small Business Set-Aside.
Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to
respond to the request or submit a quote. This notice of intent is not
a request for competitive quotes. However all quotes received after
the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the
government. A determination by the Government not to compete with the
proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with
the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be
considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a
competitive procurement. No telephone requests will be accepted. "This
notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation
(DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU),
has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged
business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance
for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line or credit is $500,000.
