extension 221 The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to
purchase the following services under the authority of FAR Part 13 for
the Aircraft Operations Center (AOC) in Tampa, Florida. Provide all
personnel, material, equipment, services, labor, parts and facilities
necessary to perform overhaul or exchange of two (2) Lycoming
IO-540-E1B5 aircraft engines, s/n RL-8279-48 and RL-20970-48 to zero
time factory specification. The engines are currently removed from the
aircraft. Either Lycoming or Superior replacement parts may be used in
the overhaul. All work shall be performed in accordance with all
current manufacturer and FAA publications; the Government reserves the
option to provide selected parts that are above and beyond the
overhaul; with a turnaround time of thirty (30) days; Contractor is
responsible for all documentation logbook entries. Engines to include
the following accessories: magnetos, starter, fuel pump, fuel injection
system, new ignition system/harness, new spark plugs, fluid
hoses/lines, internal baffling, and starter gear drive ring. The
contractor may overhaul the existing item to manufacturers'
specifications, replace it with a like item that is overhauled to
manufacturers' specifications, or replace it with a new item. A Request
for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued on or about November 6, 1997 and
will close on or about December 5, 1997. Request for copies of this RFQ
must be in writing and can be faxed to (816) 426-5067 to the attention
of Jackie Shewmaker. All responsible sources may submit an offer which
will be considered by this agency. This is not set-aside for small
