& Printing (BEP) is seeking potential sources of new equipment and
equipment vendor capabilities in the field of security printing.
Specifically, BEP is conducting market research to ascertain the
availability of sheetbased security printing and processing systems
which incorporate maximum product design and manufacturing
configuration flexibility in order to improve quality, productivity,
cost effectiveness, efficiency, spoilage reduction, provide automation,
and reduce environmental emissions from existing BEP manufacturing
operations. Responses should not be restricted by the BEP's current
product designs, manufacturing configurations, or physical
restrictions. Responses are encouraged which include long-term
projections of advanced security printing and technology methods (i.e.,
foil stamping, silk screen printing, multicolor offset and intaglio
printing, curing, coating, lamination, and flexible manufacturing
configuration and flow design). This announcement is not a request for
proposals, but a request for the submission of technological and
corporate information. The Government does not intend to award a
contract on the basis of the information submitted, or otherwise pay
for the information provided. All interested sources are requested to
submit information regarding their current and/or potential product
lines, technological and corporate capabilities, and responses to the
areas of interest no later than November 17, 1997. All responses may be
