a Sources Sought Synopsis/Market Research. This market survey is issued
to identify potential contractors with the skills and knowledge
required to accomplish the following effort, as well as identify
businesses who can offer the same or similar services in the commercial
market place at established catalog or market prices. The proposed
acquisition is for Contractor Logistic Support of the E-3 and E-6
Flight Crew Training Systems located at Tinker AFB OK. The contract
will consist of one basic year and four one year options that will
start 01 Oct 98. The proposed acquisition is to provide services for
training of flight crew members, engineering operations, maintenance of
equipment, logistics support and curriculum updates for the E-3 and E-6
aircraft simulators. Effort will also include the accomplishment of
various related software and hardware updates as required. Maintenance
of devices will include an Academic Training System, two Cockpit
Procedures Trainers and four motion based Operational Flight Trainers
which include visual systems.. A site visit will be held for interested
offerors prior to a preproposal conference. The time and date for these
meetings will be provided in the formal solicitation that will be
issued approximately 6 Jan 98. This competitive acquisition will be
accomplished in accordance with AFFARS 5315- 605.90 Lowest Cost (Price)
Technically Acceptable selection procedures. Any sources interested in
this synopsis should describe their qualifications in the following
areas: 1. Current and past experience of maintenance on the same or
similar type training devices. 2. Current and past experience with
curriculum development and classroom training. 3. Current and past
experience with the maintenance and development of software baselines.
Potential offerors are requested to submit two copies of an
unclassified response (limit 30 pages) by within 15 days after
publication of this notice to OO-ALC/LIKT, 6050 Gum Lane, Bldg 1215,
Hill AFB UT 84056-5825 Attn: Shirley Wahl. Information received will be
considered solely for the purpose of determining the number of
interested sources that qualify for this competitive acquisition. It is
requested that only prime contractors respond. A list of primes will be
made available at a later date for subcontracting opportunities.
