The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center (NAC) intends to issue a solicitations for the distribution of pharmaceutical products and selected medical/surgical products (outpatient use only) to VA healthcare facilities and other Government agencies about December 1997. The successful offerors must supply pharmaceuticals covered by Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contracts, VA National contracts, and open market, non-contract items. Offerors are advised that certain provisions for electronic ordering, invoicing, payment, and reporting will be required as specified in the solicitation. The VA intends to issue one solicitation for 22 geographical regions. Facilities in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Manila, PI will be listed as optional sites. The contract period of performance will consist of one base year plus four option years. No solicitation is available for distribution at this time. This notice is being issued to determine responsible sources that are available to perform the needed services. Small disadvantaged, and/or woman-owned business wholesalers are strongly encouraged to respond.
