The existing facility is a native surface road that will be improved to increase overall visibility and site distance. Work includes, but not limited to: constructing new turnouts; widening the roadbed; lessening the cut slope in currently unstable locations; removing old culverts and replacing with new culverts; placing 6" of surfacing material on the roadway. The project is approx. 0.5 miles long, located on the Newport Ranger District of the Colville National Forests, Pend Oreille County, Washington.
