Wimbush, Contracting Officer, 301-344-0257 Solicitation Notice Amendment -- The government intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the construction of the new San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Sciences Center (SJVASC) at Parlier, California. The contractor shall construct a 78,000-sf facility which consists of two one story laboratories, two one story office buildings, four pre-engineered secondary outbuildings, and a headhouse/ greenhouse building. Significant elements of the work include energy efficient mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems as well as incorporating a new communications system, storage and security systems. The estimated cost of construction is between $15,000,000 and $20,000,000. The time for completion of construction is estimated to be 20 months after Notice to Proceed is issued. Sets of plans and specifications will be available for a nonrefundable fee of $ 250.00 (check or money order) made payable to USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS). A written request, along with the check/money order shall besubmitted to the Agricultural Research Service, Facilities Contracts Branch, 6303 Ivy Lane, Room 616, Greenbelt, Maryland 20770, Attention: Anthony S.
