DO NOT REQUEST PLANS NOW. A SOLICITATION NOTICE WILL BE PUBLISHED BEFORE INVITATIONS ARE ISSUED. The work includes addition to the existing Water Survival Training Facility. The addition shall be two stories, of permanent construction, with a steel frame, precast concrete walls, cast-in-place foundations, foundation walls and floor slabs. Interior construction shall consist of concrete masonry unit and gypsum board/metal stud partitions, acoustical lay-in and gypsum board ceilings, and flooring of carpet, resilient tile, and sealed or painted concrete. A hydraulic elevator shall be provided. The addition shall house classrooms and administrative areas and spaces to house training devices. Also included is the disconnenction, transport, and reconnection of a hypobaric chamber and its associated equipment and an ejection seat trainer and its associated equipment. Electrical, telephone, fire alarm, automatic fire protection, water, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning shall be provided. The addition is approximately 16, 100 square feet in size. Site improvements shall include paved parking areas, sidewalks, and landscaping. The following tentative dates apply: Issue invitations 10/97, open bids 11/97, complete contract 03/99. Estimated cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. (0275)
