The Federal Aviation Administration's, Air Traffic Services Year 2000
Program Office is pleased to announce that it will host a "Y2K Industry
Day" on Tuesday, October 14, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Andrew W.
Mellon Auditorium, Department of Commerce, in Washington, DC. The
purpose of the Y2K Industry Day is to introduce the vendor community to
the Year 2000 system repair initiatives of Air Traffic Services. Air
Traffic Services houses the majority of systems that make up the
National Airspace System, one of the FAA's highest priorities in terms
of information technology. All interested vendors are invited to
attend this presentation given by the management of the Air Traffic
Services Y2K Program Office. While most of the repair efforts may be
performed under existing vehicles, the FAA wants the vendor community
to be aware of potential contracting and subcontracting opportunities.
Please note that no system owners will be in attendance and no
specific acquisitions will be discussed. To submit questions regarding
the Y2K project prior to the presentation, send an email message to
Chauncey Woodland, at chauncey.woodland@faa.dot.gov. Further questions
will be addressed at the conference. Should you wish to submit
information about your company's services, you may do so in person at
the event, or through the mail. For further details about the
