E-MAIL: Jerome G. Misch, jerry.misch@ssc.nasa.gov. NASA/SSC intends to issue a Request for Offer for Rehab and Mods to 4.16KV Switchgear & Controls. The work to be performed under this project consists of providing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the Rehab and Mods to 4.16KV Switchgear and Controls at Building 4400. The project calls for the rehab and mods in the 4.16KV circuit breakers, associated relaying, and control for four (4) electric generators in the High Pressure Industrial Water Plant (Bldg. 4400). Air type circuit breakers will be upgraded to vacuum type circuit breakers. 1950's vintage mechanical relaying will be upgraded to microprocessor controlled relaying. The 1960's vintage generator and circuit breaker control panel will be upgraded to a dual redundant computer control system with UPS backup. All control and indication wiring will be replaced. The solicitation will be released via the NASA Acquisition Internet Services (NAIS). All potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation with hardcopies of the Specification and Drawings being available upon request, but the closing date will be the same as that required for solicitaiton releases, as the solicitation will be released as soon as practicable whether prior or subsequent to September 30, 1997.
