VAMC's Battle Creek, Saginaw, Ann Arbor, and Detroit follows: (1)
Weights include operating room requirements and are soiled weights; (2)
Transport carts are bulk carts; (3) Personal clothing is to be bagged;
(4) Tests are to be completed every three months for whiteness and
strength; (5) cross stacking is not required for blankets, towels,
gowns, pajamas, robes, pillow cases and sheets. Short stacks do not
need to be identified; (6) All linen that required mending/patching is
to be returned to VAMC Battle Creek in a bag label; and (7) Following
are the weights (in pounds) of each type of surgical pack: cysto pack
(Detroit) 4.5; accessory pack 5.5; cardiac lap pack 9.13; general
surgical (Detroit) 10.8; sheet pack (Ann Arbor) 1.0; sheet pack
(Detroit and Saginaw) 1.6; mayo cover pack 1.3; swan gantz pack 8.2;
drape pack 7.10; cysto pack (Saginaw) 7.5; sleeve pack 6.1; suture bag
pack 4.1; single gown pack 1.5; ISO gown 1.7; oral sheet pack 1.8;
square tape (Saginaw) 3.2; lap sheet pack 3.5; towel pack 1.6; double
gown pack 6.2; otto pack 7.8; and general surgical pack (Ann Arbor)
9.7. Long tape assembly has been discontinued. Surgical pack makup
descriptions previously requested and furnished have been revised. A
revision may be obtainedby contacting Linda Cunic at 616-660-3075. All
