Y -- DESIGN/BUILD EXPLOSIVE ORDINANCE DISPOSAL FACILITY, MALMSTROM AFB, MT SOL DACA67-98-R-0008 DUE 120197 POC Contract Specialist Grant J Furulie (206) 764-6713 (Site Code DACA67) PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a metric design-build project, which consists of the design and construction of a 950 square meters (m2) single story facility to house the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) mission at Malmstrom AFB, Montana. The building will serve for ordinance disposal functions and activities as well as equipment storage. The facility will include offices, break room, classroom, training room, equipment maintenance and storage rooms, large equipment bays, and vehicle bays. Two of the bays shall have drive-through capability. The building construction is to be a pre-engineered metal building with raised seam metal roof. The foundation shall be drilled foundation caissons (piers) and reinforced concrete floor slab. The project will include all necessary utilities, HVAC and vehicle exhaust system, fire detection and protection, intrusion detection system, asphalt concrete access and parking area pavements, site improvements such as low maintenance landscaping, and demolition of Building No. 1705. A Request for Proposal (RFP) that will include Government prepared project development design package (approximately 15%) will be the basis for the design-construction project.
