POC Chris Crader 818-895-9365 The Department of Veterans Affairs,
SCSC, 16111 Plummer Street, Sepulveda, California, 91343, intends to
issue a sole source purchase order to ADDS, Inc., 85 Rangeway Road STE
4-B, North Billerica, MA. 01862, to purchase ADDS 2.0 Cabinet, ADDS
2.5 Cabinet and ADDS Workstation Hardware: Helica dispense mechanism
can dispense virtually any shape medication package. The configuration
can hold up to 90 line items. Hardware includes: Pentium Based
personal computer having a minimum of 16 MB Ram, 1 GB Hard Disk, 3.5"
Floppy Drive, CD Rom Drive, 28.8 Modem, 2 serial ports, 1 printer port,
Mouse, and Keyboard, 15" Color Monitor, Laser Printer, Bar Code Scanner
and all Power and Communication Cable required for installation and
operation. The following items meet the Government's minimum needs: (A)
Automated drug dispensing system that allows for the remote dispensing
of prepackaged pharmaceuticals to outpatients. (B) Software on a
central processing unit is linked to a cabinetry where an outpatient
may obtain prepackaged pharmaceuticals at sites from a central
pharmacy. (C) Dispense function can be controlled at remote site or
from another location, such as a central pharmacy. (D) Software written
in visual basic language, that is Windows 95 or Windows NT compatible.
(E) Hardware: Single item access, unit of use dispenser, narcotic
secure, single processor board controls up to ten separate dispensers.
(F) Software: Generates full patient specific prescription label,
provides a patient specific education monograph, bar code safety
checking of each item dispensed, full pharmacy record system, offsite
interface to VISTA (Veterans Administration Computer System). (G)
System has the capability of being upgraded as follows: remote pharmacy
modem link and controlled via VISTA, televideo link/control. This is
not a request for proposals, however, all concerns able to meet the
above requirements shall demonstrate their capability in writing to
this office by September 26, 1997. A determination bythe Government not
to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this
notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information
received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of
determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No
