Work consists of renovation and new construction. The expansion will
include new construction for office space, administrative space,
classrooms, conference rooms. Project involves fire protection and
alarm systems, perimeter access roads, utility work, parking areas,
landscaping, security fencing, and various site improvements. Estimated
Cost Range: $5,000,000.00 to $10,000,000.00. Bid sets available in
half-size at a cost of $75.55 and full-size at a cost of $162.00. NOTE:
There will be a $500.00 required deposit for the plans and
specifications, in addition to the cost of the plans and
specifications. The $500.00 deposit will be refunded after Bid Opening
and upon the return of the plans and specifications within 10 days by
your company. The price of the plans and specifications will not
however be refunded, therefore, you are required to send two checks
(one for the deposit and one for the cost of the plans/specifications).
These checks are to be made payable to F&A Officer USAED FTW and sent
to: USACE, ATTN: Room 2A19, Post Office Box 17300, 819 Taylor Street,
Fort Worth, Texas 76102-0300. NO EXPRESS MAIL PROCEDURES WILL BE
UTILIZED ON INITIAL MAILINGS OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. If project is
canceled or no award is made, cost of plans and specifications will be
refunded upon receipt of the returned plans and specifications.
Solicitation to be issued on or about 2 Oct 97. Bid Opening on or about
4 Nov 97. Duration of contract is 470 days. Offers from all qualified
business concerns are solicited. If a large business firm intends to
submit a proposal, it must comply with FAR 52.219-9 clause regarding
the requirement for a subcontracting plan. The Fort Worth District
goals are as follows (expressed as a percentage of the contractor's
total planned subcontract amount): Small Business -55%; Small
Disadvantaged Business-8.5%; Woman-owned Small Business-3%;
Historically Black Colleges & Universities/Minority Institutions (where
applicable)-5.5%. Offers from responsible sources will be considered.
SIC for this procurement is 1542. Small Business Size Standard is
