COOPER, (202) 231-8460 This is a Solicitation/Contract/Order for
Commercial Items, request for proposal to be submitted. The Virginia
Contracting Activity on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
Center has a requirement to procure services of a contractor to
reupholstery of the seat covers and the curtains in the Defense
Intelligence Agency auditorium. Reupholstery of 354 auditorium seats
and fabrication of two new 20' x 7'curtains in the DIAC auditorium in
a matching fabric. Proposal shall be for a firm fixed price for
services specified. Award shall be based on lowest bid among all
responsive and respondsible bidders. Respondents may be requested to
demonstrate responsiveness and production ability based on prior
contracts. The Contract shall include a one year warantee on
workmanship and a five year warantee on materials. Services requested
to reupholster 356 P.A.C. Chair riser mounted auditorium seats, as made
by the Irwin Seating Company, Grand Rapids, Michigan at the DIAC
auditorium. There are 148-21"wide and 208-22"wide chairs having an
upholstered rear and upholstered ends and bottoms. There are
upholstered row ends with aisle lights (52). Work shall include
complete fabrication with all new cloth and professional on site
installation where practical. All work shall be coordinated with the
DIAC auditorium scheduling office and the carpet installation
contractor through the contracting officer. Not all seats may be
removed or taken out of service at any time for reupholstery.
Installation shall include any new padding, batting or foam cushions
necessary to ensure professional appearance and comfort. Upholstery
fabric shall be interweave 114 maroon, Craftex 05229 maroon, or
approved equal. Final color and pattern selections will be made by the
Agency directly after notice to proceed based on fabric submittals by
the contractor. The Agency reserves the right to change color and
pattern selections within the fabric product line prior to final
selection. Removal, fabrication and installation of two new 20'x7'
drapes in drapery fabric of a similar pattern, color and texture as the
upholstery fabric selected for the auditorium seat covers. Curtains
shall be made similar to existing with a backing and will hang with
typical drapery hooks in sliding track. New drapes will be made to hang
to the floor. Fabric samples shall for the new drapes shall be included
with the fabric and covering submission. All responsible sources may
