This is a Market Survey for the acquisition of 300 Interface Module Assembly (IMA) Retrofit Kits for the Enhanced Position Location Reporting System (EPLRS) User Units (EPUUs) to support US Army fielding requirements. At present, Hughes Aircraft Company, El Segundo California, is the sole producer of the EPUU IMA Retrofit Kits. These retrofit kits are to be applied to the EPLRS Reciever Transmitters currently being procured under contract DAAB07-96-C-C762 from Hughes Aircraft Company. Technical data is not available for competitive purposes at this time. Description: The EPLRS system consists of a central control station called the Net Control Station-EPLRS (NCS-E) which locates position and tracks a community of User Units. The EPUUs are either manpack, vehicular, or aircraft mounted. The NCS-E provides these services to the field commander or the soldier. In addition, EPLRS provides a robust digital data distribution network which improves mission effectiveness for units which previously experienced communication delays, contention access, and non efficient data transfer.
