Ken W. Adams, kadams@ems.jsc.nasa.gov. NASA/JSC plans to issue a
Request for Proposal (RFP) for spare parts for International Space
Station (ISS) Volatile Organic Analyzer (VOA). NASA/JSC intends to
purchase the VOA spare partes from KRUG Life Sciences Inc. The spare
parts will serve to replace critical, limited life VOA components that
may fail or need replacing. KRUG Life Sciences is currently under
contract to design, develop, test, evaluated and integrate 1 VOA to
support ISS Risk Mitigation experiment (RME) and 2 VOA units to support
ISS. Based on experience gained in developing the initial units, KRUG
Life Sciences is uniquely qualified to deliver this set of spare parts
and to do so in time to support the delivery schedule. Any other
provider would have to repeat the development work already completed
and translate into unnecessary development cost to NASA and would put
the delivery schedule at risk. Deliver of these VOA spare parts must be
accomplished no later than December 1, 1998. See Numbered Note 26. RFP
will be released on or about 15 days after publication of this
synopsis in the CBD. Firm date for receipt of proposals will be stated
in the RFP. All responsible sources may submit an proposal which shall
be considered by the agency. See Number Note 22. Any referenced
numbered notes can be viewed at the following URL:
