Tesuque Day School -- FI&R, Project No. 93M10, consist of a base bid
and alternate bids. The base bid includes the improvement and repairs
of the site, grounds, sewer system, shcool building, portable
classrooms, cafeteria, and the administrative building to meet codes
and standards. The addition of handicapped access ramps to buildings,
the addition of 766 sq. ft. of new space to the cafeteria building and
new equipment for the kitchen. The electrical system upgrade, fire
alarm system upgrade, plumbing system upgrade and the HVAC system
upgrade of each designated building to meet codes and standards. The
asbestos floor tiles abatement. (See specifications and plans for
specifics on the work for base bid). Alternate No. 1 -- Removal of
existing perimeter fence and replacement with a 6 ft. chain link fence
along the school boundary. Alternate No. 2 -- Patch, seal and
re-stripe asphalt drive and parking lot. (See specifications and plans
for specifics on the work for the alternate bids. Award of any
contract resulting from this solicitation shall be subject to Section
7(b) of Pub. L. No. 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 450(e) and 41 C.F.R. 14.1354
which require that preference in subcontracting be given to
Indian/Alaska Native economic enterprises and preference in employment
and training be given to Indian/Alaska Native Individuals. Consistent
with these authorities, potential bidders shall advertise and solicit
subcontracting opportunites from Indian/Alaska Native firms for
suppliers and services. Section 7(b) plan requirements will be
specified in the bid document. Bidders shall request names of potential
subcontractors and suppliers from the Tribe(s) on or near whose
reservations the work under contract shall be performed. The potential
awardee shall be required to submit its plan to implement Section 7(b)
when requested by the Contracting Officer. Failure by the bidder to
submit its plan when required and implement same after award shall be
sufficient reason for non-award of a contract or termination of
contract award for default. The procurement is subject to the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Pub. L. No. 100-600.
The construction price range for Serial No. BIA-0150-97-7 is between
$250,000 and $500,00. Bid documents will be available after September
29, 1997 at a cost of $100.00 per set, non refundable and payable in
