combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) Request for Proposal
Number M00027-97-R-0008. (iii) The solicitation document and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal
Acquisition Circular 90-45. (iv) This acquisition is not a set-aside.
The applicable standard industrial classification code is 5192, and the
small business size standard is 100 employees. (v) Contract Line Item
Number: 0001; Item: Collection of Library Resource Materials; Quantity:
27 sets. (vi) Description: The Marine Corps has a requirement for
collections of family resource materials for placement as stand-alone
displays in twenty-seven (27) Marine Corps libraries. The collection of
materials will be in various media forms, including but not limited to
books (hard and soft cover), tapes (audio and video cassettes), and
magazines. The materials shall be usable by readers of all ages and
shall cover a variety of family issues including marital relations,
parenting, children's resources, and health. The collection must
contain a total of 150 -- 200 items, and be displayed in a compact,
sturdy enclosure so that the media are readily accessible to users.
(vii) Required delivery date: Within 30 days after effective date of

Albany, GA (1); Barstow, CA (1 set); Beaufort, SC (1 set); Camp Butler,
Japan (7 sets); Cherry Point, NC (1 set); Camp Smith, HI (1 set);
Iwakuni, Japan (1 set); New River, NC (1 set); Kaneohe Bay, HI (1 set);
Camp Lejeune, NC (2 sets); Parris Island, SC (1 set); Camp Pendleton,
CA (3 sets); Quantico, VA (1 set); San Diego, CA (1 set); El Toro, CA
(1 set); Tustin, CA (1 set); Twentynine Palms, CA (1 set); Yuma, AZ (1
set). (viii) The provisionat FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors --
Commercial, applies to this acquisition. (ix) The provision at FAR
52.212-2, Evaluation -- Commercial Items applies to this acquisition.
The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: (1) Technical
-- Variety and quality of media items proposed; (2) Price. Technical
considerations are significantly more important than price. (x)
Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR
52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial
Items, with each offer. (xi) The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms
and Conditions -- Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. (xii)
The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to
Implement Statutes Or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items, applies to
