E-MAIL: Chris Wolfe, cwolfe@mail.arc.nasa.gov. NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Offers for the following work for the 40 x 80 foot Wind Tunnel. Replace the existing birdscreens at vane set #7; improve the actuator system for vane set #7; construct ladders and platforms for provide access to vane set #6 actuators; and, provide permanent rigging hardpoints in the attic for manlifts to access vane sets 6 and 7. This procurement is being conducted under the NASA MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal Procurement Policy. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed by March 30, 1998. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for the procurement is 1542. The corresponding size standard is $17 million. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 9-29-97 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 10-29-97. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO. Drawings will be available from the identified point of contact. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See Note "B".
