RESOURCES-RELATED INFORMATION POC Maggie Russell (703) 648-7366 This is
not a notice for a solicitation. This is a Request for Information
(RFI); neither a draft statement of work nor specifications are
available. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), Water Resources Division
(WRD) is conducting a market search for vendors to provide
commercial-off-the-shelf software packages for managing human
resources-related information. The software should provide
functionality to manage the following information: (a) Employee
Information -- current employee information such as name, birth date,
social security number, salary, location, phone number, education,
supervisor, division, office, etc.; (b) Employment History Information
-- a brief description of jobs held during the employee's career; (c)
Education -- a summary of the employee's formal education (degrees or
additional courses that the employee has taken for a particular
academic program); (d) Training -- a summary of training classes taken
by the employee to enhance abilities or expand experience in a
particular field. The summary should include the course titles, dates,
and the number of hours of these courses; (d) Bibliography -- a
summary of the scientific or professional publications that the
employee has written; (e) Autobiography -- a summary of employee's
professional accomplishments (awards or significant
achievements/contributions); and (f) Personnel Management Evaluation
Data -- the data include the employee's evaluation from the supervisor
and self appraisal during a particular rating period. The software
package should be user-friendly to allow employees to easily update
their career information. The software package should also have an
on-line help feature that provides good, helpful information for the
user. The software should run under at least one mainstream operating
system such as Windows NT, UNIX, and Macintosh. Vendors should state in
their response which operating system or systems their software runs
on. Vendors are invited to submit their literature. In addition,
information on the availability of the software on a Government-Wide
Acquisition Contract (GWAC) or GSA schedule i s also requested. Any
pricing information submitted that contains restrictions on its
disclosure will be returned to the vendors. No formal solicitation or
contract will result from this synopsis for industry information; any
subsequent solicitation will be synopsized prior to its release if
required by the Federal Acquisition Regulations. All responses,
including technical and commercially available pricing information,
must be received within 21 calendar days from the date of publication
of this announcement. The Government does not intend to pay for the
