65 -- STERIS SYSTEM 1 STERILE PROCESSING SYSTEM DUE 091697 POC Rita Delgado (818) 895-9357 The Department of Veterans Affairs, 16111 Plummer Street, Sepulveda, CA intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Steris Corp., 5960 Heisley Rd., Mentor, OH 44060, to purchase a Steris System 1 Sterile Processing System. This system meets the government's minimum needs of being low temperature, rapid sterilization processing system that is self-contained -- 30 minute process, sterilization at the patient's examination site; self-contained -- eliminates exposure to harmful chemicals and vapors; and, eliminates the use of glutaraldehyde; enviromentally safe and automatically disposed into the sanitary sewer system upon completion of each sterile processing cycle. This is not a request for proposals, however, all concerns able to meet the above requirements shall demonstrate their capability in writing to this office by September 16, 1997. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation package will be issued. (0248)
