Lloyd, Contracting Officer, (919)-541-3570 The Environmental Protection Agency has a requirement to reconfigure, repair, and recommision three Cargocaire Dehumidifiers at the EPA Human Studies Facility in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The new Human Studies Facility is physically complete. However, a number of substantial design and operating problems have been identified with the mechanical system supplying clean, conditioned air to the individual chamber air handling units. One of these problems involves the Cargocaire Dehumidifiers used in the three main air handlers (referred to as "skids"). EPA intends to enter into a sole source with Munters Service Operations (Manufacturer of Cargocaire Dehumidifiers), 79 Monroe Street, Amesbury, Massachusetts 01913. Since the manufacturer considers the engineering data as proprietary, EPA considers Munters Service Operations as the only sole available. Any other interested party who believes themselves to be qualified to reconfigure, repair, and recommission the three Cargocaire Dehumidifiers and demonstrate their ability to meet applicable operational requirements may submit in writing, to the above address within 15 days from this CBD notice. Interested offerors shall: 1) include information on the proposed services which clearly support the requirements outlined above and; 2) provide itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible.
