Center Drive, Room 914, Alexandria, VA 22302 B -- A SOLE-SOURCE MODIFICATION TO CONTRACT TO CONTINUE WORK ON THE
WIC ELIGIBILITY STUDY II FOR ONE YEAR. ENTAILS THE DEVELOPMENT OF
ESTIMATES OF THE NUMBER OF PERSONS ELIGIBLE FOR WIC. DUE 091997 POC
Lisa Wilusz (703) 305-2250 The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and
Consumer Service (FCS) intends to issue a sole-source modification on
Contract 53-3198-2-014 with Sigma One Corporation in order to continue
work on the WIC Eligibility Study II for one year. The contract was
originally awarded on September 25, 1992, and expires on September 21,
1997. The project has entailed the development of estimates of the
number of persons eligible for the Special Supplemental Nutrition
Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC). The analysis requires
the synthesis of data from a variety of sources including WIC state
agencies, Census, and the Centers for Disease Control using a technical
approach developed in conjunction with FSC. The purpose of this
modification is to finalize the analysis by incorporating additional
data which has recently been released from the National Health and
Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). This data will be integrated
into the analysis which has already been undertaken as part of this
contract. The completed analysis will be presented in a final report.
This FCS notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals
(RFP), nor does the Government intend to pay for the preparation of
requested information. However, any firm believing itself capable of
performing this work should submit a Capability Statement to: Lisa
Wilusz, USDA Food and Consumer Service, Contracts Management Branch,
Room 914, 3101 Park Center Drive, Alexandria, VA 22302,(703) 305-2250.
