66 -- LABORATORY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM SOL Request For Information ONLY DUE 101497 POC Angela Thompson, USDA/MRP/APHIS/MSD, Contracting Officer, (301) 734-3264 The government request information regarding the commercial availability of a LIMS which would provide a full range of automated analytical support for pathology, parasitology, toxicology, chemistry services, and the isolation and identification of pathengenic bacteria in viruses to the Veterinary Services (VS) staff and state, Federal, university and foreign veterinary laboratories. To accomodate the varying and divisified needs of laboratory operations, an effective LIMS must accomodate a diverse laboratory environment facilitating the recording and retrieval of extensive and diverse test and research data. Inventory of laboratory animals, materials, chemicals and reagents must be maintained and include provisions for automatic billing services. LIMS must be GALP compliant, Year 2000 complaint and provide multi-user capability. Vendors are encouraged to submit 2 sets of product literature, stating product capabilities, commercial price lists, and product availability. Product literature shall specify required operating and systems environment to include product specific, proprietary system requirements. Indicate type of business (i.e.: large, small, 8(a) certified, women owned) and available contract vehicles, GWAC, FSS, open market, other) The government is anticipating hosting a product demonstration earlier next FY.
