A -- PROVIDE THE SERVICE OF DIRECTING AND OVERSEEING THE UPBEAT PROGRAM AT THE VAMC WLA SOL 691-90-97 DUE 091897 POC Jewel Jackson, Contract Specialist, (310) 268-3755 The VA Medical Center West Los Angeles intends to negotiate a Sole Source procurement with UCLA School of Public Health to provide the services of directing and overseeing all aspects of the UPBEAT Program Evaluation, including patient recruitment, collection of baseline and follow-up data, data monitoring, cleaning and analysis of erroneous data entered into the database by the users, review of sub-studies, and provide on-site training to West Los Angeles project staff on the use of the software and demonstrate installation procedures. Contractor shall provide a multi-discriplinary group of evaluation experts, including psychologists, sociologists, public health experts, and health economists to measure cost and utilization issues to improvement in functional status over usual care. The UPBEAT Program has been in existence for approximately 36 months under a separate contract with UCLA. Solicitation is to be issued on or about 8/29/97.
