http://www.gsa.gov/fedcac. E-MAIL: Federal Computer Acquisition Center,
jeanne.davis@gsa.gov. The Federal Computer Acquisition Center (FEDCAC)
plans to acquire Seat Management services for management, operation,
and maintenance of the desktop computer and its associated network
infrastructure. These services will be provided to Government agencies
as a unified service. The services include the entire suite of
hardware, COTS software, connectivity, and support services required to
support general purpose, scientific and engineering, or mixed desktop
computing environments. To accomplish this, the prime contractor and
its subcontractors must collectively be capable of providing asset
management, infrastructure management, user support, installation,
maintenance, training, and design. The Government desires to acquire
these services as a utility and intends to pay for them on a per "seat"
basis. The Seat Management Contract will be a Government-wide, multiple
award, non-mandatory, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ)
contract. Individual Task Orders will be issued against the ID/IQ
contract to service client agencies. It is anticipated that one of the
multiple award contracts will be awarded to small business. A second
Draft Request For Proposal (DRFP) is expected to be released on or
about August 29, 1997. Industry comments/questions are being solicited.
DRFP comments are due on September 12, 1997. Questions/comments may be
submitted via the FEDCAC Home Page. In order to be included on the
Source Mailing List (SML), qualified firms are required to complete SML
information found on the FEDCAC Home Page. Sources responding to this
notice shall indicate whether they are a large, small, disadvantaged or
woman-owned business. For this synopsis a business concern is
considered small if its average annual receipts for its preceding three
(3) fiscal years do not exceed $18 Million dollars. The Standard
Industry Code (SIC) for this acquisition is TBD. The Government will
not distribute printed copies of the Draft RFP. It will be made
available to industry through the Internet on the GSA/FEDCAC Home Page
at http://www.gsa.gov/fedcac. Help for the FEDCAC Home Page is
available by calling Susan Coppola of FEDCAC at 617/860-7131. This
synopsis is for information and planning purposes only. It is not to be
construed as a commitment by the Government and the Government will not
pay for any information provided by vendors. (0240) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0317 19970902\70-0006.SOL)
