INDEPENDENT R&D CONFERENCE ON CB SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY The U.S. Army Chemical and Biological Defense Command (CBDCOM) will host an Independent Research and Development (IR&D) Conference on chemical and biological (CB) science and technology (S&T) on 8 -- 10 October 1997 at the Edgewood Conference Center, Edgewood Area, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The purpose of the meeting is to learn about industry S&T capabilities pertaining to CB defense. Once identified, appropriate technologies can then be transitioned into Government research and development programs as they mature. The first day of the conference will involve DOD briefings addressing the future of the CB S&T program and technologies critical for CB defense in the 21st Century. In addition, attendees will hear S&T strategy briefings addressing CB Detection, Protection Against CB Agents, and CB Decontamination. The remaining days of the conference will be filled with individual company presentations before panels of Government scientists in each of the CB technololgy areas. Thepresentation format will be designed to insure the protection of company proprietary material.
